Yes! Exercise will help you to get rid of cellulite.

You need to do both cardiovascular exercise and strength and conditioning exercises like lunges as shown in the picture above.

I'm barefoot in the picture but you may want to have athletic shoes with good foot support when you so them. In order for you to really hit the glute (butt) muscles when you do a lunge, be sure to place more weight on the back foot so that you are not pitched forward onto the front foot. Also, focus on and contract the muscles in the areas that you are trying to tone.

Exercise: A Must For Any Cellulite Reduction Program

Cellulite is an ugly and embarrassing problem that affects over 90% of all women. While not life threatening, many women feel uncomfortable wearing a bathing suit or shorts because of the ripples and bumps on their hips, legs and buttocks.

It is possible to get rid of cellulite or at the very least reduce it. Here's how you can begin to reduce cellulite.

First you need to understand what cellulite is. Cellulite is composed of fat that is caught between bands of connective tissue. Therefore a complete cellulite reduction plan addresses both the fat and the bands of connective tissue. There are two distinct categories or elements that work towards decreasing body fat and treating the bands of connective tissue.

The first element is lifestyle choices. Exercise and diet are lifestyle choices that are integral to any cellulite reduction plan. The second element is cellulite treatments which includes but is not limited to Velasmooth, Mesotherapy and the Galvanic Spa. Velasmooth is done in a medical spa or dermatologists' office while Mesotherapy is administered by a doctor. Both cellulite treatments, Velasmooth and Mesotherapy may work very well depending on who administers the treatment.

The focus here is on a crucial lifestyle choice: exercise. You need to do both aerobic or cardiovascular exercise and strength and conditioning exercises. Cardiovascular exercise is a very important because it burns fat (remember, cellulite is in part fat) and increases circulation to the area. Strength and conditioning exercises are necessary because they help to "tone" or increase the muscle tissue in the area.

You can easily fit cardiovascular exercise into your day by dividing the required 30 minutes up into 10 minute segments done morning, noon and night. Be sure to get the intensity up so that you are breathing hard but not struggling to breath.

The conditioning exercises that you choose to do depends on your fitness level and whether or not you have any injuries. Squats and lunges along with some power movements are great so long as your knees are healthy. There are other good exercises for the hips, buttocks and thighs. Focus on the area of your body that you are working and try to do your exercises until you feel a "burn." This is not pain, just a small amount of discomfort to confirm that you are working the muscle hard enough.

While there are many cellulite treatments, exercise is one of the most important ones for reasons way beyond cellulite reduction. Start exercising and blast away your cellulite!

Don't forget to do fat burning cardio to lose more cellulite. Cellulite is fat caught between bands of connective tissue. Lose fat and you decrease cellulite. Your body needs cardio at least 3 days per week to stay healthy.

Cellulite Treatment That's Getting Lots Of Buzz

A new cellulite treatment called VelaShape is getting lots of positive press lately for the role it plays in cellulite removal. VelaShape was approved by the FDA in August. It works by using broad spectrum light and radiofrequency to heat the tissue. VelaShape combines these energy forms with massage to break down cellulite. These are the same methods that Velasmooth uses, so they are either similiar or the same cellulite treatment. Doctors are usually pretty sceptical about the various methods that remove cellulite. They are, however, very pleased by what they see with VelaShape.

No matter how well VelaShape works to remove cellulite, you still must exercise to maintain your results.

    Machine Claims to Reduce Cellulite

There is a health and slimming clinic in Spain that has a machine that they claim will stimulate the muscles of the body in order to treat cellulite and help people lose inches. It works by sending electrical impulses to the muscles so that they contract. The makers of thus machine imply that this will take the place of exercise. They way that the machine will contract and relax your muscles like exercise.

The company that makes these machines has been doing so for over 30 years and that a three quarter of an hour session is equivalent to two and a half hours in the gym. This seems like quite a claim. It's hard to believe this claim without seeing actually data from a controlled study plus before and after pictures. Electric stimulation has been around for a long time for therapeutic purposes. Exercise is very multi-faceted. Done properly, it helps people to condition their heart and lungs, strengthen their muscles and bones and increase coordination and balance. Cardiovascular exercise combined with strength and conditioning will help people to lose inches and cellulite.

There is no substitute for exercise to improve your health and wellbeing. Cellulite exercises are a must for any cellulite treatment program. While this machine may stimulate muscles, it does not do it in the same way that exercise does.

VelaShape is Getting More Attention In The Cellulite Media

For the last 7 years I have made it my job to discover every way to get rid of cellulite. It started when I was asked to do a segment on the news to help a women get rid of cellulite through my exercise program. I am an Exercise Physiologist and I managed to rise to the occasion and help this woman get the cellulite off her legs with my program. After that, I continued to look at every other way to reduce cellulite. There are some pretty interesting techniques and treatments that really help. Some of those are VelaSmooth now called VelaShape and Mesotherapy.

VelaShape currently gets media attention because more people are trying it and are happy with the way it tightens their skin.

However, no matter what treatment you use, your results will not last unless you exercise. Exercise is the key to maintaining any results that you get with your cellulite treatment. You must do both cardiovascular exercise and strength and conditioning exercises. Cellulite is composed of fat that is caught between bands of connective tissue. Cardiovascular exercise burns the fat that is bulging through the skin. Cardio also increases circulation to the area which helps to treat the bands of connective tissue. Strength and conditioning exercises increase the muscle tone of the areas that have cellulite and make the areas look much better.
